A Typical Day

Our Charter Logistics team will work very closely with you in designing your bespoke day to perfection.

Each day is customisable to your exact requirements.

The following is a sample itinerary detailing how your day could be.

 

Sample itinerary

09.00: Arrival time at the yacht(s). You will be met at the Marina gates by your ONDECK representative and welcomed onboard with a hearty breakfast of bacon rolls, pastries, orange juice, tea & fresh coffee.

09.30: The skipper will perform a comprehensive safety brief taking approximately 45 minutes.

10.15: Time to cast off! The yacht leaves its berth and motors the short distance into the Solent, passing the narrow busy harbour entrance flanked by the working Naval dockyard & historical forts of Southsea and Haslar. The sails are hoisted and the Skipper begins to help guests become familiar with sailing the yacht. Guests are welcome to get actively involved or can sit back relax, chat and enjoy the view.

Lunch: Time to slow down and recharge those batteries. Lunch can either be a sumptuous 3 course buffet served onboard by your hostess, a hearty racing sandwich lunch if time is of the essence, or a 2 course lunch served ashore in a number of select restaurants.

 

Afternoon : After the morning's sailing activity, guests will be more familiar with sailing the yacht, and the skipper will move onto more advanced sail handling. Depending on your type of day, the afternoon can advance as follows

  • Hospitality Days : Guests can try their hand at helming and all the various jobs on board. The Skipper may set a small triangular course to test everyone's newfound knowledge. The day is yours! So if you prefer to sit back and relax in the generouscockpit area, watching the world pass by from probably one of the most enjoyable vantage points imaginable, please be our guests.


  • Match Racing Days: Following lunch, it's time to show how much you have learnt together! The Skippers will set 1 longer course or 2 short courses for some fun match racing in the Solent. The Skippers can make the racing friendly and competitive, keeping yachts close together for everyone's enjoyment.

Afternoon tea of handmade scones / cake, fresh coffee, tea and mints to be served during the course of the afternoon

17.30: Arrival time back at Gunwharf Quays. You are welcome to share an après sail drink and chat about the exciting events of the day - what a perfect way to end the day. Guests to depart at their leisure or

Evening event: Celebratory dinners, drinks and parties in one of the many venues in and around Gunwharf Quays
