Please Note that these details are provisional until 2009 dates and prices have been confirmed. Please contact the office on 01983 612642 to register your interest for the 2009 event.

In June 2008, teams from the PPP/PFI industry will come together for the 4th PPP/PFI Challenge. Over thirty teams took part in the 2008 regatta and entries into the 2009 event will be limited to a maximum of 40 yachts.

The event is aimed at the principals in the PFI/PPP industry (public sector, private sector and funders) though a limited number of other companies involved in the PPP/PFI industry (construction companies, property advisers, lawyers, technical advisers or financial advisers) will be allowed to enter. All participants (entrants and guests) must be genuinely involved in the PPP/PFI business.

All those participating in the PPP:PFI Challenge will find it a valuable way to raise their profile, network within the industry, entertain clients and reward employees.

The Challenge will combine a networking and social programme with a comprehensive, yet accessible, race series staged in Hamble, Cowes and the Solent, the home of world yachting!

The PPP:PFI Challenge has been established by Gleeds and Britannia Corporate Events as a focal point for the industry.

Public Private Finance, as the leading publication for the sector, is the event’s media sponsor and will be ensuring a high media profile for both the event and its competitors.

Please note that there is limited availability for this event. Please us at the earliest opportunity to reserve your entry.

YACHTS, RACE STRUCTURE, PRIZES & COSTS

Yachts - Beneteau 40.7

The Beneteau 40.7 forms Class 1 of the regatta and attracted over 20 teams in 2007, making the PPP:PFI Challenge one of the largest gatherings of 40.7s in the season and a fiercely competitive class to race in.

The 40.7 is one of the most popular cruiser racers on the market and provides exhilarating sailing without the need for a team of professional sailors.

With its resolutely modern design, the First 40.7 is a true pleasure boat. The beautiful hull lines, clean deck layout, and comfortable interior all add up to a fast, functional yacht.

All crews will have a professional skipper included in their package. Your skipper will expertly guide you throughout the entire regatta, ensuring an enjoyable experience.

Race Structure

All crews will have the opportunity to practice on the first morning. The racing then comprises 6 races in the Solent, all overseen by a professional Race Officer and support vessel.

The first two races will take place on the afternoon of day 1 and the remaining four will take place on Day 2. If 4 or more races take place during the course of the regatta, teams will be able to discard their worst result and the remaining results will be used to calculate the final results.

Prizes

The prize giving will take place at the regatta dinner on Day 2 at the prestigious Cowes Events Centre on the Isle of Wight.

Prizes will be presented to the winning team and to those teams in second and third place. Crew members from the winning team will also receive individual trophies.

The Corinthian Cup will be awarded to the highest placed team skippered by a member of the PPP/PFI industry.
