Ondeck and Britannia rule the regatta waves

Solent and Caribbean based charter events and training company, Ondeck, has today announced the formation of a joint venture partnership with sailing regatta specialists Britannia Corporate Events. The venture will see Ondeck and Britannia begin cross marketing activities in 2008 and launch two new corporate regattas. The combined operation will also create one of the UK’s largest charter fleets with 26 yachts.

Britannia's core business and expertise is the organisation of sector specific regattas. Through the partnership Ondeck will offer Britannia's portfolio of 15 regattas to its extensive blue chip client base. It will also partner in the launch of two new regattas for 2008. The first of these will be the Advertising, Brands & Communications Cup, which will be held in Cowes and Portsmouth, in September 2008. The second will be the Financial Services Regatta which will also take place in September 2008 with a fleet of over 50 yachts.

The joint venture will also see Britannia market Ondeck’s sea school, charter offering and corporate hospitality packages in the Solent, Antigua and the US Virgin Islands. The partnership will combine a fleet of 28 yachts and motor boats, creating one of the largest fleets in the charter market and will include 14 Beneteau 40.7s, 4 Farr 65s, 4 Farr 40s, 2 Dehler39s, 1 Fjord 40, the Pindar Volvo 60, the Pindar Open 60 and corporate hospitality vessel Hatherleigh.

Last month, Ondeck launched its Skandia Cowes 2008 “rock up” campaign and corporate hospitality offering. Next year Ondeck will boast the largest fleet of ocean racing yachts available for charter at the world’s most prestigious and renowned sailing regatta which takes place from the 2nd to 9th August 2008, comprising 4 Farr 65s, 9 Clipper 68s and the Pindar Volvo 60.

2007 has been a record year for Ondeck, which has seen it experience 85% growth; announce a strategic alliance with Team Pindar, acquire London based sea school Capital Sailing and recruit some high calibre industry names. The company has also expanded its bases in Gosport, the US Virgin Islands and Antigua.
