ONDECK JOINS FORCES WITH TEAM PINDAR

Solent and Caribbean based charter events and training company, ONDECK Sailing, has today announced a strategic partnership with ocean racing specialists Team Pindar. The deal is forecast to generate in excess of £1 million of new revenue for the companies.

ONDECK will take over the management of the Pindar commercial charter offering for external customers, that includes the new Open 60, the Volvo 60 and Pindar’s unique corporate hospitality vessel Hatherleigh.

Working from Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth during the UK season, the Volvo 60 will be used for corporate and individual sailing, team building events and competing in yacht races, such as the JP Morgan Round the Island Race, Rolex Fastnet and Skandia Cowes Week.  It will also be utilised by ONDECK Sailing’s Caribbean operations during the winter season, taking a flagship role during next year's Antigua Sailing Week.

ONDECK will have sole charter access to the radical new Juan Kouyoumdjian designed, Pindar Open 60. Charter clients will be able to experience breathtaking performance onboard one of the planets fastest monohulls.

The renowned quirky converted fishing vessel Hatherleigh, will be used for company functions, over night guest accommodation and as a spectator platform for sailing regattas, opening up a new market for non-sailors.

The agreement also provides ONDECK with exclusive access to the Pindar stable of professional sailors such as Brian Thompson, Ian Williams, Jo Royle and quadriplegic sailing ambassador Hilary Lister for

speaker opportunities, celebrity sailing events, corporate sailing and inspirational talks.

The partnership is expected to generate revenue in excess of £1million for both businesses. It comes on the back of a record year of 85% growth for ONDECK, which has seen it acquire London based sea school Capital Sailing and expand its bases in the US Virgin Islands and Antigua.
