Here at Ondeck Sailing everyone is gearing up for our busiest week of the year - Skandia Cowes Week.

Each day you have the opportunity to ‘Meet Stokey and find out about Transatlantic Sailing’ at the Ondeck area.
Stokey Woodall is held in great esteem by the thousands of yachtsmen and women he has helped, trained or sailed with over the years.
He has amassed more than a quarter of a million sea miles, including 31 Transatlantic crossings, and is a highly respected teacher of celestial navigation and weather.
Stokey has been integral to the planning and execution of Ondeck's Transatlantic Sailing Events over the past few years and is a fountain of knowledge about Atlantic locations and venues with many interesting and amusing annecdotes to share.
You can join Stokey between 5.00 and 6.30pm

Many of you who have successfully completed your RYA Day Skipper Theory and Practical Courses with us ask about chartering and we have not been able to help you. That is until now…
We are proud to add Bareboat Charter to our portfolio of services.
We have already attracted to our fleet a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37, built in 2006 which comes fully kitted out with all the toys (Raymarine equipment). We also have a brand new Beneteau Oceanis 37 joining our fleet at the beginning of August so don’t delay, be the first to sail this beautiful yacht by booking online here.
Bareboat Charter is the perfect way to build your experience after Day Skipper success. Cruise around the familiar waters of the Solent in a yacht you were taught on. If you are not feeling confident enough to take it out on your own, one of our RYA qualified instructors can accompany you for the first few hours, day or the whole week!

Comments from the Principal
The temperature is rising, and things are really hotting up here at Ondeck.
Many of you are taking the time to join us for some summer sailing, either in the Solent, on one of our Channel Islands instructional cruises, or perhaps in Portugal.
All of our sailing areas are offering fantastic conditions at the moment, with a cosmopolitan feel on the quayside, and excellent learning on the boats. The powerboating is at full revs with most courses full at weekends, so book in advance if you want the thrill of petrol fuelled adrenaline. So Relax, enjoy, your time with Ondeck.

All of our RYA Theory Courses are available and can be customised to run over a number of evenings or on one evening a week to suit your requirements. We also deal with all enquiries and administration for you!

June saw the start of a successful Regatta Season with the Mobile News Regatta (Telecoms), FTBA Sailing Challenge (Furniture), Lutine Lineslip (Insurance) Regatta and the PPP:PFI Challenge all running successfully.

The Ondeck Atlantic Adventure
Cascais – Madeira – Cape Verde – Barbados October / November 2008
|
|

This is one of our two Atlantic crossings in the calendar, heading from East to West, and is truly the adventure of a lifetime!
The voyage follows the traditional trade route which is downwind, leaving earlier and sailing to destinations unvisited by other commercial Atlantic rallies, we head further South to warmer climes and steadier trade winds.
Despite pre-conceptions, anyone can do this trip! No offshore experience is necessary, just a taste for adventure!
We have been conducting a series of Open Days, throughout the summer, which give you the opportunity to learn more about the event, the yachts, the crew and Ondeck.
The next open day will be held at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth on Saturday, 16th August 2008
Stokey Woodall will be making a presentation at the beginning of the day, giving you a deeper insight into the trip, the destinations and what to expect from the weather en route. This will be followed by a sandwich lunch and an afternoon sail onboard a Farr 65 so you can see what the crew and this ocean racing performance machine can offer on such a unique and fantastic adventure.
