Yacht Maintenance
Duration: 5 day, plus additional 2 days for Bluewater module
Number of students: 12 max
Previous Experience Required: None, but some boating experience preferable

Here at ONDECK, we understand what owners and skippers need to know about how their boat works. As a result, we have put together a yacht maintenance course, designed especially to meet your needs. This course comprises all of the basics that you will need to understand, and how to carry out basic routine maintenance.
Day 1 |

Diesel Engine maintenance including fault finding, winterisation and commissioning. This goes into far more detail than the RYA Diesel Engine Course. |

Day 2 |

Marine electrics including basic 12 v systems, calculation of loads, wiring, and fault finding. You will also cover engine starting systems. By the end of this day you will have the skills to be able to diagnose and fix a basic electrical fault. |

Day 3 |

Marine plumbing including the fitting and maintenance of sea cocks, basic fresh water systems including accumulators, heads operation, servicing and unblocking. |

Day 4 |

Rigging and winch maintenance. Whipping and Splicing. |

Sail repair ½ day Painting, varnishing and Antifouling ½ day |

2 day additional Bluewater module

Water makers - set up, water production, and system pickling. Power production including fuel cells, solar power, duo gen and generators |
